Fullstack web developers - Melbourne Region

 

Position summary

We're building a web platform to power the impending wave of wearable and implantable devices about to enter the healthcare market. The platform will store and manage the biomedical data from these devices which would allow us to provide personalised insights, predictions and alerts to patients in real-time. The platform currently supports our at-home EEG-ECG diagnostic services and will soon support clinical trials of devices carried out by partner companies.

We’re looking to hire two full-stack web developers to work on all aspects of the platform, from interfaces managing complex upload workflows, to curation of annotated data for viewing across thousands of patients.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing, testing, and maintaining code for the GraphQL server API (implemented with NodeJS and Apollo server) and for the main web app (implemented with ReactJS)

  • Ensuring the web platform (server and clients) remains performant, scalable, stable, secure, resilient, documented, and maintainable

  • Responding to any issues or priorities according to the determined level of urgency

  • Proactively raising issues or ideas for how any aspect of the web platform should be built

  • Be an active member of the team's development and learning

 

Skills and experience

We are looking for people with the following attributes:

  • 3+ years of experience in web development and with JavaScript

  • Experience and passion for software testing, security, code review, and documentation

  • Ability to work well in a diverse team with different backgrounds and experience levels

In addition to these base requirements, we are particularly interested in people with experience in:

  • ReactJS

  • NodeJS (especially ExpressJS)

  • SQL

  • Git, CI/CD, and agile development practices

  • Managing and monitoring server infrastructure (especially on AWS)

  • GraphQL (especially the Apollo libraries)

  • Docker

  • Python

  • Data visualisation

  • Building software systems that manage health data

  • Developing against software standards (e.g. IEC 62304)

 

Remuneration

Salary range: $90k-$120k negotiable, plus 9.5% superannuation.
