Fees

We aim to ensure our specialist fees are kept at a minimum while delivering world-class care.
Medicare covers the majority of the cost of this service. The remainder is paid by you as a deposit at the time of booking. The deposit to be paid at the time of booking is $448.20.

Our team will tell you what reimbursements you are eligible for, if any, at the time of booking. If you believe you are eligible for fee exemption, please let us know at the time of booking.

 

ECG reimbursements

Seer Medical believes ECG data is critical for referring doctors to make an accurate diagnosis and includes ECG monitoring in all studies, even if not explicitly requested by your doctor.

However, if your doctor has indicated an ECG component to your testing on the referral, you may be eligible to receive a Medicare reimbursement of $148.20 following the completion of your report.

Seer Medical processes this claim on your behalf after the final report has been sent to the referring doctor. Please note that this means you may only receive the Medicare reimbursement four (4) to five (5) weeks after the conclusion of your monitoring period.

A valid Medicare card is a requirement for Seer Medical to be able to process reimbursement claims on your behalf.

If your study is not eligible for a Medicare rebate, our staff will inform you before your appointment.

Please note that some studies have specific eligibility requirements which may impact your ability to claim a rebate. If you would like to know more about these requirements please ask our staff for more information about your specific study.

 

Fee exemptions

Fee exemptions are available for individuals that meet at least one of the criteria below:

  • Pensioner Concession Card Holders
  • Health Care Card Holders
  • DVA Gold / Veteran White Card Holders
  • Eligible to claim for services through your state’s transport/motor accident commission, workers’ compensation cover or other similar scheme
  • On request from the referring healthcare provider

In order to access a fee-exempt service, your referral will need to clearly state the basis for eligibility. We request that you confirm and provide evidence of this status with our reception staff at the time of making your appointments.
Claims through Workers Compensations schemes or motor accident commissions may need to be validated with that body prior to appointments being confirmed.

Routine EEG


Fees

We aim to ensure our specialist fees are kept at a minimum while delivering world-class care. At the time of booking, a deposit of $208.90 is collected.

Referrals that are appropriately indicated for routine EEG testing by the referring healthcare provider (MBS Item 11000) may be eligible to receive a Medicare reimbursement of $108.90 following the completion of their report.

Seer Medical processes this claim on your behalf after the final report has been sent to the referring doctor.

Home sleep study

Fees

We aim to ensure our specialist fees are kept at a minimum while delivering world-class care. At the time of booking, a deposit of $546.55 is collected.

Referrals that are appropriately indicated for unattended, at-home sleep investigations by the referring healthcare provider (MBS Item 12250) may be eligible to receive a Medicare reimbursement of $296.55 following the completion of their report.

Seer Medical processes this claim on your behalf after the final report has been sent to the referring doctor. Please note that claims can take up to seven (7) business days to appear in your account.

*If any of the sensors specified within the MBS item 12250 are removed during the study, the Medicare rebate may not be processed.

Payment methods

Payment is collected at the time of booking by phone. If you prefer to pay online, we can provide you with a secure payment link.

 

Payment plans

If needed, we will work with you to design a payment plan that is achievable for you. To arrange payment plans, please contact us directly on 1300 868 888.

Seer Medical also accepts payments through the Zip app. For more information, please visit the Zip website.

 
Medicare rebates

A valid Medicare card is a requirement for Seer Medical to be able to process reimbursement claims on your behalf.

If your study is not eligible for a Medicare rebate, our staff will inform you before your appointment.

Please note that some studies have specific eligibility requirements which may impact your ability to claim a rebate. If you would like to know more about these requirements please ask our staff for more information about your specific study.

 
Private billing

For those not covered by Medicare, Seer Medical’s long-term video-EEG-ECG monitoring service is available at full cost. The amount will be paid at the time of booking in order to secure your appointment. Please call to speak with one of our team members directly about this option.

If applicable, please check with your private health insurance provider to find out if this service is covered by your individual plan.

 
Cancellation fees
  • We require two (2) business days notice prior to your scheduled appointment if you need to change or cancel your appointment. This will ensure that other patients have the opportunity to access that scheduled time.
  • A $100 fee will apply for non-attendance or late cancellation. This fee will be deducted from your deposit and is not claimable under Medicare or private health cover. The remainder of your deposit will be returned to you.
  • Changes to appointments or cancellations must be made by phone by speaking directly to a team member. Please do not email or text us to change your appointment. For the avoidance of doubt, any notice left by voicemail outside of Seer Medical’s stated operating hours or on Public Holidays will be considered to have been received at the start of the next business day.
  • You will not be able to reschedule with us until your cancellation fee is paid.
  • Seer Medical will help you to remember your appointment time by sending you an SMS two (2) days before your scheduled appointment.
  • If there are any circumstances beyond your control which may prevent you from providing the requested notice period for changes or cancellations, please let us know as soon as possible.
