Our technology consists of wearable devices, a cloud platform and machine learning systems. These systems are at the core of our at-home video EEG monitoring and diagnostic service - the first of its kind. Seer has already made a big impact across the east coast of Australia over the last 2 years and is now building for international expansion.

The Role

Data Scientist is a key role at Seer! We're building a cloud-based machine learning platform to deliver personalised insights from ambient, wearable and implantable devices. 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Data Scientist to join our team and work alongside the software development group. You will drive new innovations to provide improved data-driven insights to empower our users at scale.


  • Building deep neural networks to detect abnormalities in EEG and ECG data.

  • Working on large and complex data sets in preparation for machine learning

  • Deploying machine learning models as production code

  • Automating tests and validation of algorithms

  • Apply exciting and best practice methods of analysis through statistics and modelling that assists in detecting of seizures.

  • Act as an internal subject matter expert yet collaborate effectively across-channels and different teams.

  • Being an active member of the team's learning

  • Driving innovation to scale our technology

About You

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an analytical field (e.g. Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics)

  • Min 3+ years’ experience, with data analytics and science and proven experience in designing experiments

  • Strong analytical skills, with experience solving ambiguous problems using data

  • Experience with developing deep learning models and working with remote machines in the cloud

  • Extensive experience with Python is essential

  • Linux, Docker and Git experience

  • Experience in cloud computing (ideally AWS)

  • Strong communication skills and an attention to detail

  • Passionate about building maintainable and robust systems, with experience across; data processing, machine learning libraries and big data technologies

  • Enthusiasm for software quality (automated testing, code review, and documentation)

  • Ability to work well in a diverse team with different backgrounds and experience levels
